History of Raxanadon
What follows is a brief, still-unfinished history of the Raxananikoa and the settling of Raxanadon.
Years 1–164 — Early Years
- 1 — Coming of the Raxanikoa to Raxanadon; start of Records.
- 2 — Raxananikoa finish journey over Mt. Zonsak; first permanent settlement, Gudnaband ("Foot of Stone"), founded at base of Mt. Zonsak. Construction of Temple of Raxanazar begins.
- 10 — Temple of Raxanazar at Gudnaband completed.
- 100 — Lake Hukasal settlement founded.
- 150 — Great Library and Second Temple of Raxanazar construction begins at Hukasal
- 155 — Great Library finished. Paved road from Hukasal to Gudnaband completed.
- 158 — Fire halts construction of Temple of Raxanazar at Hukasal.
- 160 — Temple at Hukasal construction resumes.
- 164 — Temple construction completed, dedicated both to Raxanazar and Salaakkiokke. Religious capital moved to Hukasal.
Years 165–167 — Years of Warning
- 165 — Prophesy of doom comes to Gudnaband. High Priest of Raxanazar orders construction of stone dome over city, as he was told by Raxanazar himself
- 167 — Protective dome completed, with large doorway facing away from Mt. Zonsak for trade and airholes along bottom. New lumber mill constructed near Mt. Zoka to provide fuel for lights. Fireplaces in houses are connected by chimneys and pipes to outside.
Years 168–169 — Years of Waiting
- 168 — Settlement at base of Mt. Zoka becomes permanent settlement, Zokanaten ("House of Ice").
Years 170–200 — Miracles
- 170 — Year of Darkness. Mt. Zonsak erupts. Door of Gudnaband is shut. Fire from Mt. Zonsak flows over the dome, encasing the city. Air and smoke holes are miraculously not covered by the molten rock. First Miracle.
- 171 — Year of Hope. Stone rolled away from door to reveal that the molten rock never covered the doorway. Second Miracle. Trade resumes with city of Hukasal.
- 172–175 — Years of Light. Top of dome partially chiseled away to provide more light and air. Temple of Raxanazar at Gudnaband rededicated.
- 200 — Year of Joy. Mt. Zonsak erupts again in a flowing river. The Domed City, Gudnaband, prays to Raxanazar to save them. A fierce wind arises from the southeast and blows across the river of fire, causing it to change course to avoid the city and creating a path for further eruptions to follow. Third Miracle.
Years 201–299 — Rebuilding
- 205 — Work begins on the Zondozip ("Wall against fire"), a giant wall designed to help divert lava flow from Mt. Zonsak away from Gudnaband.
- 210–212 — The Noxnakufum ("Tower of Light") is built as an addition to the Temple of Raxanazar at Gudnaband. It reaches high above the city, peering out of the hole in the dome.
- 255 — Zondozip construction completed. It stands five hundred feet tall and extends over seven miles long. A ditch fifty feet deep is dug along its outside.
Years 300 450 — Years of Discovery
- 300 — The Raxananikoa found their first settlement on the southeast coast of Raxanadon, the future great port of Salkirax.
- 305 — Mt. Zonsak erupts again, but destruction deterred easily by the Zondozip.
- 345 — Second port city of Dektakx ("East End") is founded, northeast of Salkirax.
- 350 — Raxananikoan voyagers from Salkirax reach foreign shores and begin trade with outsiders.
- 355 — Second settlement on Lake Hukasal founded, city of Gudnamak ("Boat of stone").
- 360 — Mt. Raxgud first explored.
- 362 — New temple to Raxanazar begun at base of Mt. Raxgud.
- 363–310 — Seven-Year Storm. Trade dispute with outsiders leads to conflict. Raxanazar arouses great winds to churn the waters south and east of Raxanadon, making them impassable.
- 375 — Temple to Raxanadon at Mt. Raxgud completed, becomes monastic site.
